insight into the cultural heritage of the Emmental, from the Alpine cheese dairy to the &#8220;SCL Tigers&#8221; ice hockey club.<\/p>\n<p>Immerse yourself in the special atmosphere of the oldest largely original wooden building in the region. Experience the past and present of the Emmental: everyday life, trade and crafts. Meet important personalities from the region and join in the discussion. One of the largest and most important collections of Langnau ceramics as well as cooperage and Fl\u00fcehliglas complete the offer.<\/p>\n<p>The museum comprises a varied and interactive permanent exhibition in German, French and English, a special format on current topics, a museum store and a self-service caf\u00e9. The small courtyard with its cottage garden, the large arbor and the museum foyer invite you to linger and offer space for aperitifs or concerts. There are also special offers for children and young people.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-menu-anchor\" id=\"umbau\"><\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-2 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"margin:0;--fontSize:43;line-height:var(--awb-typography1-line-height);\">Renovation of permanent exhibition &amp; relocation of entrance area<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-2\"><p>From summer 2024 to summer 2025, part of the permanent exhibition was redimensioned and extended by two interior rooms and the entrance area was moved from the museum side to the front of the museum. In order to complete the necessary work as quickly as possible, the museum remained closed for a month. On September 7, 2025, the first partial opening was celebrated on Ch\u00fcechlihus-Sunndig.  <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/regionalmuseum-langnau.ch\/en\/current\/permanent-exhibition-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Insights into the conversion project<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-title title fusion-title-3 fusion-sep-none fusion-title-text fusion-title-size-two\"><h2 class=\"fusion-title-heading title-heading-left fusion-responsive-typography-calculated\" style=\"margin:0;--fontSize:43;line-height:var(--awb-typography1-line-height);\">Between old and new<\/h2><\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-3\"><p>Following the renovation, the Ch\u00fcechlihus Regional Museum now has a new entrance area and two interior rooms that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the Emmental in a fresh way. Various new media are used &#8211; from artistic films and sound installations to objects that tell their own story.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-text fusion-text-4\"><p><strong>A new, inviting entrance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The entrance is now at the front of the museum and leads directly into the newly designed rooms. The Ch\u00fcechlihus welcomes its guests with greater openness, accessibility and clarity. Visitors can now also discover part of the exhibition barrier-free and free of charge.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"860\" data-end=\"903\"><strong>Room 1: Perspectives on the Emmental<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"904\" data-end=\"1363\">An island with places, objects and personalities provides insights into the past and present of the region. Visitors encounter historical objects as well as people who shape the Emmental today &#8211; from the footballer Lia W\u00e4lti to the snack pioneer Erdal H\u00fcseyin or the Sri Vinayagar Temple in B\u00e4rau. In this way, the Ch\u00fcechlihus Regional Museum creates more space for current and more diverse topics.<br data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1228\">The objects tell their story anew in audio contributions, bringing even a ready-made fondue or an ice hockey puck to life.  <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1365\" data-end=\"1426\"><strong>Room 2: The movie &#8220;Ds \u00c4mmitau i mim Hus&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1427\" data-end=\"1706\">In the second room, the Ch\u00fcechlihus itself takes you on a journey through its 500-year history: from the market building to the pottery and the cheese warehouse. The artistically staged intro film &#8220;Ds \u00c4mmitau i mim Hus&#8221; is the centerpiece of the new permanent exhibition.<br \/>\nThe narrative combines hand-drawn animations, music and voices from the region to create an atmospheric work that brings the past and present to life &#8211; and at the same time captures the unique aura of the house. <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1945\" data-end=\"2191\">To complement this, the sound project &#8220;How does my Emmental sound?&#8221; invites you to discover the region with your ears.
