The exhibition offers insights into a wide variety of “knowledge,” thereby opening up new perspectives. With the project launch and opening reception for “spychere. Collecting Local Knowledge,” we are celebrating the kickoff of the “spychere!” project and beginning our public collection effort among the general population.
More information about the program will follow—we’re already looking forward to your visit!

Grandparents’ Day at the Chüechlihus
Searching for clues with the Chüechlitiger – an adventure for young and old
Touch, try, puzzle—and spend time together:
The Chüechlitiger invites children and teens to dive into the history of the Oberemmental together with their grandparents. Accompanied by the museum’s curious mascot, young visitors embark on a playful journey of discovery through the museum.
The aim is to solve tricky puzzles and look closely: Search for clues, combine clues, draw, glue, stamp, craft and do handicrafts. Step by step, you get closer to the solution – until a little surprise awaits at the end.
Exclusively for Grandparents’ Day on March 8, 2026:
All children receive a free syrup, and grandparents can get two copies of the colorful “Chüechlitiger” brochure for the price of one. An experience that brings generations together—curious, creative, and full of a spirit of discovery.

Interactive Reading
with Anina Schärer
Join us for a participatory reading in the museum’s galleries! Together, we’ll let fiction spill over into the real space. Illustrations and texts, song notations, and symbols from the book*Im ausgeschriebenen Haus* by Anina Mirjam Schärer find their counterparts in the museum objects and exhibition settings.
The “meticulously arranged” graphics and texts in the book offer a “polyphonic perspective on things.” These are turned and twisted, sometimes even turned upside down, placed in different contexts, picked apart, torn, shredded, amputated, deformed, enlarged, reduced, botched, interlocked, and—yes, this happens too—put back together in a meaningful way.” (From:“Nothing Is as It Seems” by Petra Brixel on literaturkritik.de) We playfully explore the agency of objects and listen to how fictional books describe them.
At the end of the evening, in the form of an aperitif, we raid the pantry (mentioned in the book). (In German)
Admission incl. 1 copy of the book & aperitif: CHF 40.- / solidarity price: CHF 30.-
